Multiple days tours and itinerary

All tours mentioned below include transportation, entry fee to all the birdwatching parks we visit, lunch, cold drinks and water, canoe trips, upcountry accommodations and guiding fee.

ONE WEEK COASTAL TOUR

Day 1. Welcoming Tour at the Kotu creek and the surrounding including a one hour boat trip that you can have a great chance off seeing Giant Kingfisher, Malachite Kingfisher, Pied Kingfisher, Blue-breasted Kingfisher, Black Egret, Greater Painted Snipe and many wading birds. On this tour you will conduct a four hours morning tour then a break and at four p.m another three hours to complete the day.

Day 2.  Pick up at 7:30 from your hotel, drive to Brufut woods for four hours then you have a chance of seeing both Green and Violet Turaco, Long-tailed Nightjar, Cardinal Woodpecker, Yellow-fronted Tinkerbird and many more. The afternoon to Tanji bird reserve chance of seeing Osprey, Sulphur-breasted Bushshrike, Western Blue Bill, Four-banded Sandgrouse, Swallow-tailed Bee-eater, Blue-cheeked Bee-eater etc.

Day 3. Abuko Nature Reserve and Lamin Rice Field for a day trip that enable you to see Giant Kingfisher, Green and Violet Turaco, Green Hylia, Yellow-breasted Apalis, Western Bluebill and many more.

Day 4. Tujering woods and Sifoe woods. Expected birds here are White-fronted Black-chat, Chestnut-bellied Starling, White-shouldered Tit, Long-crested Hawk-eagle, Red-winged Warbler, Senegal Batis, Brown-backed Woodpecker and many more.

Day 5. Marakissa woods and Darsilami woods. At Marakissa you can enjoy a nice canoe ride to see the Giant Kingfisher, White- backed Night Heron, Greater Painted Snipe, Hamerkop, Allen's Gallinule and many more.

Day 6. Farasutu forest and Pirang forest. Exploring these two forests you have a great chance of seeing Verreaux`s or Giant Eagle Owl, African Wood Owl, Northern White-faced Owl, African Scops Owl, Greyish Eagle Owl, Pearl Spotted Owlet, African Goshawk, Yellow-billed Coucal, Simple Leaflove, Green Crombec, Green and Violet Turaco and many more.


Day 7. Oldcape Road and Bund Road. Good for many wading birds wintering in the Gambia. Greater Flamingo, Osprey, African and European Spoonbills, Sacred Ibis, Great-white and Pink-backed Pelicans and many more.

TWO WEEKS BIRDING TOUR

Day 1. Kotu creek and the surrounding and a one hour boat trip at the creek. Great chance of seeing Giant Kingfisher, Pied Kingfisher, Blue-breastfed Kingfisher, Little Bee-eater, Black Egret and many wading birds.

Day 2. Mandinaba rice field and Faraba Bantang Bush Track. Chance of seeing Martial Eagle, White-back Vulture, Pin-tail Whydah, Grey-headed Bush Shrike, Yellow-bellied Hyliota and many more.

Day 3. Early morning pick up from your hotel drive through the south bank road birding on the stops at various places to watch for both birds of prey and woodland species and night stop at Tendaba Camp.

Day 4. After our morning breakfast at Tendaba we will go on a boat trip to Kissing and Tunku Bolong looking for Pel´s Fishing Owl, White-back Night Heron, Blue Flycatcher, Yellow-Billed Stork, White-throated Bee-eater, African Fish Eagle and many more. In the afternoon we will visit the Kiang West National Park for Abyssinian Ground Hornbill, Senegal Batis, Temmincks Courser, Bronze-winged Courser and many more.

Day 5. Leave Tendaba after our morning breakfast, drive through the south to Gambia Bridge and get on the north side of the river looking for Black-crowned Crane, Egyptian Plover, Exclamatory Paradise Whydah, Savile's Bustard and many more and night stop at Georgetown.

Day 6. After our morning breakfast at Georgetown we have a boat trip at the river Gambia looking for African Finfoot, Shining Blue Kingfisher, African Fish Eagle and many more. Then in the afternoon we go birdwatching around the island.

Day 7. After our breakfast, we visit the Kunkilling Forest Park for Adamawa Turtle Dove, Red-shouldered Cuckoo Shrike, White-backed  Vulture and many more.

Day 8. Leave Georgetown after our breakfast, cross the river by the ferry to the north and birding on the way looking for Pygmy Goose, Red-throated Bee-eaters, Northern Carmine Bee-eater, Ant-eater Chat and many more and night stop at Morgan Kunda Lodge.

Day 9. Depart Morgan Kunda after breakfast, to North Senegal to the roosting site of the Swallow-tailed Kites and back to Morgan Kunda Lodge to stay for the night.

Day 10. Departing Morgan Kunda in the morning after  breakfast, birding on the way to Tendaba and night stop at Tendaba Camp.

Day 11. Depart Tendaba after breakfast birding on the way back to the coast and a night stop at Baobab Island.

Day 12. Depart Baobab Island to Marakissa for a night stop.

Day 13. Marakisa and surroundings where we will have a one hour boat trip as well and night stop at Marakissa.

Day 14. Depart Marakissa after breakfast, visit the Kotu creek for an hour and drive back to the airport.

THREE WEEKS BIRDING TOUR SENEGAL & GAMBIA

Day 1. Arrival at Banjul Airport, night stop at the Hotel.    

Day 2. Early morning pick up from your hotel to the Banjul ferry crossing to north side of the river. Birding on the way to Toubacouta in the Delta de Saloum and conduct an evening boat trip looking for White-crested Bittern, Osprey and many wading birds and night stop at Toubacouta.

Day 3. Depart Toubacouta after breakfast and birding on the way to Njafat for the Swallow-tailed Kites, White-bellied Bustard, Lesser Kestrel and many more and a night stop at Kaolack.

Day 4. Depart Kaolack in the morning and birding on the way for Quail Plover, Lappet-faced Vulture, Blue-naped Mousebird and many more and the night staying at St. Louise.

Day 5. Depart St Louise to Djoudj looking for Arabian Bustard and afternoon boat trip for Lesser Flamingo, different species of ducks, Great White Pelican and many more and a night stop at St. Louise.

Day 6. Depart St. Louise and go birding on the way to Richard-Toll for Sennar Penduline Tit, Little Grey Woodpecker, Chestnut-bellied Sandgrouse and many more and night stop at Richard-Toll.

Day 7. Depart Richard-Toll and drive to Podor for Golden Nightjar and a night stop at Podor.

Day 8. Depart Podor in the morning and drive back to Kaolack where we spend the night.

Day 9. Depart Kaolack birding on the way to Wasadou Camp on the south east of Senegal and a night stop at Wasadou Camp.

Day 10. Morning boat trip at Wasadou and after the boat trip wander around the camp and in the afternoon we make a second boat trip looking for Carmine Bee-eater, Pel´s Fishing Owl, White Crown Plover, Egyptian Plover and many more and another night stop at Wasadou Camp.

Day 11. After breakfast a safari at the Niokolokoba National Park  and back to Wasadou Camp for a third night stop. 

Day 12. Depart Wasadou, birding on the way to Dindefelo for Blue Flycatcher, Mali Firefinch and many more and an overnight at Dindefelo.

Day 13. Birding around the area at Dindefelo and drive back to Wassadou Camp and night stop at Wassadou camp.

Day 14. Depart Wasadou and birding on the way to the Gambia and night stop at Georgetown. 

Day 15. Boat trip in the Gambia river and after birding to Kunkilling Forest Park for Adamawa Turtle Dove and many more and an overnight at Georgetown. 

Day 16. Depart Georgetown birding on the way to Tendaba stopping at various hot spot for birds and night stop at Tendaba Camp. 

Day 17. Morning boat trip at Baobolong Wetland Reserve for Golaith Heron, White Back Night Heron, Finfoot and many more and afternoon visit to Kiang West National Park and night stop at Tendaba Camp.

Day 18. Depart Tendaba Camp birding on the way to Marakissa camp for a night stop.

Day 19. Birding around Marakissa and the surrounding area and staying at Marakissa camp.

Day 20. After breakfast drive to Kartong and Gunjur Forest for Capuchin Babbler and many forest species and night at Kartong.

Day 21. Depart Kartong visit the Kotu Creek for a couple of hours and drive back to the airport.
